Moisture – Proof and Dehumidify to Keep Dry
Humidity is the "number one enemy" of press brake tooling. Especially for carbon steel dies, they are highly prone to rust and oxidation in a humid environment. The ideal storage humidity should be maintained between 40% – 60%. To achieve this, a dehumidifier can be placed in the storage area, or more silica gel bag desiccants can be prepared. At the same time, never place the press brake tools directly on the ground. It is best to use a moisture – proof mat or a shelf to raise them, and keep them away from wet areas such as water sources and steam pipes.

Constant Temperature and Avoid Light to Ensure a Stable Environment
The impact of temperature on press brake tools cannot be underestimated. The ideal storage temperature ranges from 15 – 25°C. Excessively high temperatures can cause the metal to expand, while too low temperatures can make the metal brittle, both of which can damage the dies' performance. In addition, direct sunlight can cause local temperature changes and accelerate the aging of plastic parts on the dies. Therefore, the press brake tools should be stored in a place away from light.

Keep the Environment Dust – Free and Clean
Metal debris and dust, once attached to the dies surface, can not only scratch the press brake tools but also affect processing accuracy. Therefore, regularly clean the storage area. If necessary, install dust covers for the dies or use sealed cabinets for storage to ensure that the press brake tools are in a dust – free and clean environment.

Shock – Proof and Stable

Dies have extremely high requirements for accuracy, and vibration may cause the press brake tools to shift and their accuracy to be impaired. When storing dies, keep them away from vibration sources such as stamping machines and large – scale machine tools. At the same time, the storage racks or tool cabinets must be fixed to the ground. For heavy – duty dies, pay attention to dispersing the load to ensure the stability of the storage environment.
